please help somebody my 2.2 l is driving me nuts not only does it run like dirt but it sounds horrible...what can be placed in the engine bay instead. somebody once told me a ls1 corvette engine would fit???i need something new and that runs well. any suggestions would be much appreciated

well i can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that you will never get a corvette motor in you would need to convert to rear wheel drive plus those cavies dont have enough room under the hood id find some more reliable sources id suggest checking all your fuel and spark aswell as look for exhaust leaks if you have problems with the head/headgasket id suggest just throwing the car out cavaliers are famous for these things

Sounds like you're in a real pickle. My advice, since you can't seem to find the problem, take the car to a good shop and have the diagnose what the problem is. Then from there make a decision about what you want to do.

it wouldn't be easy but you could look into retrofitting a Cadillac North star V8, it would require custom wiring and the caddy trans and alot of fabrication, but it would surely wake up your mundane caddy. Or there's always the turbo thing. or you could spray it until you experience non passive failure.
