Hi there from Australia, Im asking this question on behalf of a friend.
He has a set of Alloy heads P/N: 14011077 in excellent condition, they have recently been given the ok by a machine shop but he has changed his planes for his engine.
Are these cylinder heads rare??? If so, I guess they would be rarer in Australia...??
He is hoping to sell them, but is not sure of a decent price to ask for them?
Anyone got any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks.

The term "alloy" doesn't really tell us anything about the heads.
An alloy is just a mixture of metals - shoot they could be steel or aluminum for all we know, but what's more important is the runner length, cross-sectional areas, valve sizes, combustion chamber size/shape, etecetera.

Ok, so that P/N 14011077 does not mean anything? Ill have to get some more info off him then. I just assumed that p/n would relate to only one type of cylinder head?

Having a brother-in-law who's English, "alloy heads" means aluminum heads.
To figure out an answer to your question, we need to know who made the heads to go with the part number. If they're factory heads made in Australia, that could be a problem.

A google search of that part number returned this thread first and foremost....
That means that number probably means something in Australia, but us here in the states surely don't know anything about those heads.

I also found this on a google search:
14011077...69-up...rect...OPEN...Aluminum, fits MKIV, "C-port" also sold as a "solid" head
That P/N comes up quite a bit on American chev forums at my end.

I wasn't really thinking about a big block Chevy head...
I think you solved your own problem. Ebay that part number and see what you can find.

Yeah mate big block. Sorry perhaps I should of mentioned that first up. Our Ebay here has nothing under that number, might have to try and get onto the US one.
My mate is mainly trying to determine if these are actually rare heads. He was intending on selling them as he has no need for them, but if there something special he will hold onto them.

You can try www.mortec.com but one of the guys has already posted the info that it shows. I do not know if they are rare heads or not but I can tell you that they work great. I have a set of these on a 496. Mine have 2.25 intake and 1.88 ex valves. Motor has approximately 13.5:1 compression with a 49cc domed piston, 745 lift solid roller with 275 degrees of duration. It's in a 1980 Malibu drag car that weighs 3325 lbs and has run a 6.25 sec 1/8th mile at about 110 mph. Runs consistent 6.30s in the heat.
