"A well-placed inside source tells Musclecar Enthusiast a new Camaro and the next generation GTO will be released for the 2008 model year.  The two will be built off modified Kappa architecture at the Wilmington assembly plant.  No word on the styling direction, although Chevrolet dropped a possible hint with the 2003 SS concept car.  Expect the new Camaro to be a larger sport coupe, more like today's GTO than the last-generation F-Body."  --Musclecar Enthusiast, February 2005

A new camaro would be great but it needs to have the old classic look with more power im not talking about 300 to400 horses im talking about 500 plus horses in priceable range under 30k. If young guys in there 20s like me is what your trying to attract then a camaro like that would surely do the trick . I've been a chevy lover all my life and when chevy quit making the camaro and firebird it killed your muscle car lineup. I've got a 94 z28 , an 88 camaro , and a 70 model c10 chevy the camaro's are my pride and joy and if you bring them back with the 1st gen style and more beef under the hood one would definitly be parked next to my others.

I've never had a Camaro, although all my vehicles have been GM's. I hate to say it, but Chevrolet is screwing up big time lately.  The mustang is selling like MAD with it's rear wheel drive, V8, and retro styling... and it's reasonable price point.  If you want a RWD Chevy, you have to buy a 'vette, or a truck/van.  Their economy car, the Aveo... it's just plain ugly, and it doesn't get all that great of fuel mileage... but before I go to far off on that tangent, I digress.  I hope they do make a Camaro in the near future, and it once again competes with the mustang.
