It is verry easy for us to foreget some things in our quest for stright line acceleration.Make sure you invest in your brakes ,steering and suspension before trying to make your car or truck faster.I am not talking about spending tons of money on trick parts. If you are on a budget at least make sure you get everything back to the way it was when it was new.Dont put off that ball joint, sway bar links or worn brake pads or shoesetc. The money is better off spent on making the vehicle safe first and may be as rewarding when you drive it as the extra 10 h.p for that air box etc. If you can afford to upgrade the safety items to better parts that is just as good. What is the sense in making 100 more horsepower if you loose it and hit that big tree on a corner because you put off the safety items. It is easy to get caught up in this .But make a list of worn parts if you have any and set a goal of dooing that first.

For a very good reason, I vividly remember being told by a racer when I was about 14...
"Before you do anything to modify a car, make sure you invest in the brakes. The car must stop quicker than it accelerates."
I often think about that conversation and it took place 31 years ago.
