How much carb is too much?

Here is my setup:

SBC 355 cid, 10:1 cr, mildly ported camel hump heads (2.02, 1.60), full roller setup with Comp Cams XE cam (236 int 242 exh @.050", 0.520" int 0.540" exh 110 LSA), Performer RPM air gap, the car has 1 5/8" headers through 2.5" flowmasters and revs to 6200.  I am currently running a Holley 700 double pumper.  Is this carb adequate?

Thanks.

If you max at 6,200rpm with a 355... IMO, the 700cfm is just fine.  I'd keep it.

I'd have to agree. If you want drive it regularly don't go bigger unless you get a high dollar carb with replaceable air bleeds. Without them it would be hard to get a proper mixture with no compromises. I know pepole with all out cars that always complain the car is no fun to drive on the street, and yet they won't drop back a notch or two on the carb ( or anything else ).

With fuel injection you could tune the thing with throttle bodies that are huge, but carbs are much more difficult when you go way too big.

Good luck
