Thanks for the words of wisdom guys on my TBI / power adder question. Now ... next question.... does anyone know if there is any help for the poor (at best) brakes on my 1988 1/2 ton chevy 4 wheel drive. I pull alot with my truck and if you have ever driven this model truck you know there is no brakes without a load behind you. Is this a chevy factory problem? My friend has a truck the same model and has the same problem. I cant afford some exotic after market setup. I have changed the old fluid and bled the system. Still no luck.....any answers???

Well assumeing everything is in good condition. You could go with a bigger vacume boster or a master cylinder that can move more fluid. But I am thinking that your master cylinder is week.Does the truck have ABS this is another place for problems.

No, it does not have abs, and I changed the master cylinder with the stock replacement. I even changed the master cylinder cap twice thinking I saw a leak there. I've changed one brake line and as I mentioned before the fluid. I've owned the truck for about 5 years, and it has never had really good brakes. funny....sometimes you can pump the pedal and get good brakes (a full pedal), then again nothing you do seems to help. Is it a vaccum problem or volume or..........I've ran out of guesses. I've rebuilt the engine, trans., and rear end. The truck is in good shape, just needs some brakes.

Well you could always try better friction matrials.Dont foreget the back of the rotors always look worse then the outside.
