The following had disk brake either as options or standard and are a direct replacements for your front drums: Buick Special 67-72, Camaro 67-69, Chevelle 67-72, Chevy II/Nova 68-73, GMC 71-72 Sprint, Monte Carlo 70-72, Olds F85 67-72.

Picking from a Wrecking Yard requires that you get the spindle assembly with backing plate, bearing hub, disk rotor, and caliper. You’ll need the hoses and possibly hard lines as these use different fittings than the drum brakes. You will need the power booster and dual reservoir master cylinder, and the proportioning valve. Measure the wheel bolts, the vehicles sighted above should have 11 inch disks with 5 bolts on a 4&3/4 inch spacing.

There are newer year systems that work, but GM changed spindle height in 73/74 which changes the wheel camber angle. There are outfits like Global West that sell modified A arms but that’s almost as expensive as going with a kit.

I just bought a 1971 Nova with drum brakes. I was told that you could buy a bracket and use newer style Cadilac brakes for back. Don't know the truth to this?? I was wondering if anyone would know if 97-200? S-10 front brakes would work?
