I have a 350 ci 72 nova with a 650 vacume holley. It would not rev over 4000 rpm. A freind sugested that the secondary jets may be too small. When we unhooked the secondaries the engine reved al the way.

My question is what size jets should be in the primary and secondaries as a starting point? After getting in the ball park how do you tell were to go from there?

I need more specifics on unhooked the secondaries.I hope you are trying to get past 4000 in gear. The secondaries may not open without a load. What I think you need is a lighter spring but try to buy a quick change kit first. Most people will reccomend tunning the secondaries first. If it is a pretty stock engine the factory jetting in the carb should be verry close.Depending on what model carb u have the rear jets may not be changeable because all they r is holes drilled in a metering plate. Is this a second hand carb?
