hey everyone im kinda new here, i have a few questions you might be able to answer.. My motor is a 350 Small block from an 89 suburban, what can be done internally to beef up this motor? any special porting i should have done? cams? lifters? pistons? this is where i need some guidance. i can get it apart and back togeather but thats just rebuilding with stock components, that gives me stock power and i want some more. ive looked on summit but i just dont have an idea of whats gonna work for this motor.. i dont want to buy the wrong stuff.. any guidance would be greatly appreciated and im sorry this is so long...

Some more info would be helpfull. What are your goals? "some more" is a little vague. What vehicle is it going in, what trans, what rear gear, intended use?

First off, to beef up the motor strength wise, you'll want to use forged pistons, forged rods, ARP rod and main bolts, coated rod and main bearings, and moly piston rings.

For power, a good hydraulic roller cam is the way to go, in a pattern that will maximize the flow specs or your heads, and the net compression ratio of your engine.
