I have a camaro with a 2.8 six. The motor has 105K, so i'm not suprised its having problems. But i don't know if its time to throw in the towel quite yet. The cam bearings are making noise. And the upper end doesn't have any oil, meaning i took off the valve cover and its bone dry while running. But according to the gage there is 80 psi of pressure at idol. I know bearings controll oil flow but i can't figure out how 80 psi of pressure doesn't put oil in the cover.

It's unlikely the pump is developing 80 psi, possible if the bypass was stuck closed on a cold day with thick oil. Something's gone in the upper end oil circuit it sounds like getting into the engine is the only solution.
