I was wondering if anyone out there has ever done a ls1 or ls2 conversion into a 94 an up s-10. Maybe thinkin of doin one. I have seen an lt1 but was wondering if anyone has done, seen or heard of someone doing an ls1 or ls2 swap. Please reply with any websites or information that might be helpful. Thanks.

Putting an LS-1 into an S-10 is a lot more involved than the older SBCs for a couple major reasons. First, nobody I’m aware of currently makes headers for this installation. This drives several work arounds that can be fabrication by the builder to loop around the steering shaft similar to Gen 1 or II SBCs or offset the engine to the right an inch and use factory truck manifolds. Gen I or II SBC headers cannot be reasonably modified as the LS series engines have a very different port layout than the earlier engines Clear Image Auto is planning a set ofLS-1 to S-10/15 swap headers but they are not yet available <<< http://www.clearimageautomotive.com/Chevy%20S10%20Header.htm >>>.
You will encounter top end fitment problems with the coil packs and either or both the hood and certainly the brake power booster, probably the heater and air condition as well. Different years present various coil mounting schemes, so the exact problems you encounter will be a bit unique to the engine you source. However, the engine needs to be lowered in the frame a couple inches but this can’t be done if you have a passenger car oil pan. This needs to be replaced with either a truck pan or custom pan and you need to relocate the oil filter (see the Car Shop p/n CS1PAN for a complete kit, it’s about 400 bucks) <<< http://carshop.carshopinc.com/product_info.php/products_id/81168/LS1PAN >>>. At that you may need to relocate the coil packs to the firewall or fender wells.
Mounts can be had from the Car Shop as well <<< http://www.carshopinc.com/index.php/cPath/28_115 >>>.
Rumors have it that JTR’s latest version of their S-10 V8 swap book has a chapter on the LS1 family, but I haven’t seen the latest and certainly their website, doesn’t provide a hint. But their books are worth having as they contain lots of useful information. <<< http://www.jagsthatrun.com/ >>>.
Electrical is a nightmare, have no suggestions other than you want everything from a doner vehicle, don't even consider this swap starting with just an engine that was a good deal from somebody.
