I built a 383 for my corvette about a year ago. When the time came to bolt on a carb, I went to eBay to purchase one.  I ended up buying an older 775 silver claw carb that was used on a drag car (my mistake). No matter what i do to that silver claw, i can't get it to respond. The fuel curve is all over the map. When driving the car, the mixture is always dead lean or pig rich. I've changed everything from jets and air bleeds to gaskets, power valves, and air filters. I've come to the realization that i can't figure this thing out. So, I’m gonna junk it and buy a new carb. The engine has AFR 195's and a comp 230-236 with .521-.536 inch lift. I'm running an edelbrock rpm manifold and its all connected to a TH-350 with a 2800 rpm stall. Ok, now for the question! I was looking for a good recommendation on a carb. All I'm looking for is a carb that will give me a nice fuel curve, i'm so sick of flat spots and a pig rich idle. i was thinking about buying a ffice:smarttags" />Holley Street avenger 770. A Holley HP series carb would be a good decision, a 750 or possibly even an 830 depending on your gears.

The street Avenger 770 is a good carb but I think you'd be a lot better off with a Speed Demon 750cfm. They don't leak like a Holley and are about the same price a holley, sometimes cheaper. The Speed Demon Series will not disapoint you!
