Fuel injection should help low and midrange torque, but HP peak usually stays close to the same as a carb, but this only assuming the mixture calibration is correct on your carb. Which takes time and skill and a way to judge your mixtures on, plug reading is very sketchy, especially for anything other than WOT. If you have to go buy a whole carb up front this may be more $$$ than you think but probably still not as expensive as a fuel injection setup. Both situations could be more user friendly, depending on the user! Some people are scared to death of carburetors, some are scared to death of electronics, computers, and wiring, so take your pick. But more than likely the fuel injection will be substantially more money, but fuel economy is also a added benefit, but I doubt this is of much concern with your high-revving engine 327.

It has been my experience that the t-5 transmission is ok for stock cars, But don't like alot of H.P. or torque. If I was to recommend a transmission it would be the t-56. To find a used one get on E-bay. They were used in the 93 and newer f-body's and corvettes.

Good luck
