I am intrested in buying a 92 camaro RS. There is one problem it is a 3.1 V6. I would want to swap that for a 350. My question is would that be alot of work? I read in the mag. (april 2003) that its better off buying one with a V8 in it already because of the motor mounts, trans etc. What would I have to replace in order to get a 350 in it? Is it worth the money or am I better off getting one with a V8 in it already, like the mag said.
Thanks for any help

If you feel like you have the BIG *** to spend then the Skies the limit, but if ya' don't then I would buy one with a V-8. But wait a minute! I know this might not thrill ya' too much, but what about dumping the 4.3(262 *** V-6 under the hood. It may not quite have the sound of an eight, but if built right it can have the same RWHP as a stock 350 or even better. The 4.3 is basically a 90 Degree SB V-8 minus 2 Cylinders. It also would work fine with this car since it is already set up for a six anyway. But if ya' really want an eight, then you're probably better off buying a V-8 powered one or expect alot of time and BIG *** to make a swap. Tranny, drivetrain, computer equipment, emission equipment and such have to be matched exactly. This does not include a whole slew of other modidfications that must be done to make it work. So again if you can afford the time and BIG *** then the skies the limit.

Im in school so I dont have the time or the money. I have an 81 camaro with a 305 in it, so that is going to be my toy to beef up. But I really like the 92 rs body style and I would love to have a 350 in it and this is the only one around that has a good body on it (no rust). But if its going to cost me too much for the swap I may just leave the 6 in it and use it as a daily driver. Ill drop a 350 in the 81, it will be much easier and less costly. Thank you for your reply.

stay with the 81 or find an 92 rs v8
u don't wanna try changing a v6 to an 8 ... everything is different.... If it won't move,FORCE it,If it breaks, IT needed replacing anyways!!!!!!!!!!
