IS IT POSSIBLE TO BUILD A 393 SMALL BLOCK? USING A 4.060 BORE AND A 4.80 CRANK. i HAVE BUILT 383 STROKERS BUT AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS POSSIBLE OR WHAT KIND OF MANORS THE MOTOR WOULD HAVE. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP ON THIS ONE. THAMKS

Considering the bore and stroke you gave would yield about 497 cubic inches, no that can't be done, but maybe you could clarify what stroke you meant and then we can help you.

I'm sure it's do-able. Same precautions as when building a 383 - stroker clearancing that needs to be double-checked. A small-base circle cam and or capscrew rods may be necessary.

With all the aftermarket cranks, blocks, and rods available today, you can pretty much build any displacement small block you want.
Something to keep in mind though when you're deciding on this, watch your rod-to-stroke ratio so you don't end up having a combo that makes the motor fight itself when turning.

Is there a crank that will swap out the stop crank in a 98 vortec 350 with minimal other mods?
