The was a Performance Q&A recently about how to start-up a 700r4 tranny the first time out. Ready to start up, can't find the magazine with the article. Pretty sure it was in CHP. I vaguely remember "11 qts, 30 seconds on at a time". Anyone know where to find this or know the start-up sequence? thanks.

hmph. I never heard of that before. I always just fill it up, start up the motor and let everything warm up and fill as needed while it's warm. If you can't find an answer here go to the hotrod.com board, theres a fella that goes by the name shiftman I'm sure he would know.

Here at our shop we put about a quart and a half in the converter. normal pan we add 4 quarts, motor the engine for 10-12sec,add 2 quarts, motor 10 sec, add two quarts and idle, oil will be barely marking stick add to about one quart low. Run the selector thru all ranges, Decide what additives you will use. Check for oil leaks, test drive, retorque pan bolts. and check your radiator before you go test drive
