In your Dec 05 issue, you listed the LT1 Caprice as a "Hot ride for cool dollars." I'd like to ask you to quit pushing these cars as the parts are getting harder to find and I need them all. As the owner of two 1995 9C1's and one 1995 B4U Caprice, I need cheap and easily available parts. The B4U car is basically the same as a 9C1. It has all of the goodies like oil and transmission coolers without all of the pesky electrical problems that plague decommissioned cop cars. It does have rear drum brakes instead of the 9C1's disc brakes, but the 9C1's brakes don't work correctly without the "stealth brake-bolt mod" anyway.

My B4U car has run a best of 14.642 at 91.920 mph at the local drag track with a 3200 rpm converter on a Pro-Built 4L60e, some programming, and street tires. Since it's the wife's daily driver though, I had to get a 9C1 to play with for myself.  A friend of mine is running in the 12's with a '96 Caprice. Of course, he's running a ZZ3 cam, headers, 3.42 gears, and drag slicks.........

It looks like the only way I'll beat him is to bring my 502 powered '68 Camaro out to the track!
