Hey all, ive been gone from the site for awhile and miss all of your commentary. In case you dont remember or never knew I have a 1981 chevy K1500 with a zz4 pushing 400 horse and 425 torque through a 700r4 and 12 bolt rear. Right now ive got 4.11 in the rear with an Eaton locker. Im in college and I love my truck. Ive seen a few articles and read a few testimonies and I have seen cars running 400 hp with really low gears like 2.55 gears or something like that. I was wondering if it would be possible to do that in my truck? The extra gas mileage would be a great help to me. I am not so much worried about acceleration anymore. Right now I run about a 6.5 second 0-60mph and ive topped out at 125 at 5500 RPM in third gear. If i were to drop the rear end really low what brand of gear set should I go with to be able to handle the torque and hp and what is the absolute lowest you would reccommend? Also if I drop it that low what kind of numbers do you think i would see? 0-60? and top end? As usual any other information you can offer up that I may not have mentioned would be helpful as well. Thanks a lot. -James
