Hi. I recently purchased a 1986 Iroc Z, the car as a TBI 305 LG4 with a 700R4 trans. My question is, would a t-56 trans fit on my car and how much mods will it involve to install? I planning on stuffing a 400 block between the fenders, and finaly, will I have a problem fitting the T-56 on the 400 cu.in. thanks  

the 400 like all sbc will bolt up fine. the swap has been done a bunch of times. check past trans swap articles in the tech section of The CHP website.
