I have a 350 4 bolt main with one piece rear main seal with a block casting number
14093638 and i have no idea if its a vortec or not . I've been told vortecs werent introduced till 1996, and supposedly this block came from a 94 truck. Anyhelp out there??

You are correct, vortec engines began finding their way into trucks in '96.
That is a run-of-the-mill late-model small block.
