I have a LT1 out of a 94 caprice, the car was totaled, I wanted to transfer it into a 92 caprice with a 305 in it. what would I need to do to make this swap work?

If '92 has the rounded body style the '94 does, the swap is pretty straightforward.

If it's a square body, you'll need to get a different computer/control harness because of the optispark system.

You need the wiring harness and computer for the LT1. The computer for the L03 305 will not run an LT1 for more than about two seconds if that. Also, you would be better off swapping in the 94's trans and rear end for fewer headaches later as far as the computer goes. Another thing to keep in mind is that the 94 uses a digital speedo that will have to be dealt with. Check out some of the Impala SS forums for swap tips as this has been addressed many times there.
