I am about to break-in my goodwrench motor that I put in my 82 blazer but have a question about the carb. The carb is a NEW carb (but for the 305 that used to be in it). I was thinking about getting new metering rods (richer jetting)? Where can I get new one or will it be ok for the 350? I don't want to burn a valve because it is running too lean. Thanks for your help.

I would call the carb manufactorer(sp?) and ask them about your application. They could probably tell you if the rods need to be changed out for the extra 45 cubes, or where to get some rods. If they cant help you, then Im pretty sure a call to Holley would do the trick, even if the carb isn't a Holley. With their technical knowhow, Im sure they could stear you in the right direction.

As far as I know if the 350 is basically stock. the stock 305 quadrajet will be fine. The stock quad should be around 650cfm wot. It is best to adjust the mixture screws with a vacuum guage.

Break in the cam and then check the spark plugs. If they are as white as this screen then you need to do some mods.
Quadrajunks came on everything from a 283 to a 454. So they have a wide range.
The big block quads were jetted higher and were 800cfm wot. The small blocks were leaner and were 750cfm wot.
Just try during the break in process and check the plugs. If the carb is lean it wont be so far off that it will damage anything during break in. That is if the 350 is a stocker.
