1980 sb 267ci ,rebuilt 305 heads,new erson ev100 cam,lifters &pushrods,headers,older elderblock performer dual plain intake. holley 4160 single pumper. I didn't degree the cam!engine starts good!sounds strong ! put it in drive & excelerate it has no power! push down on the pedal and nothing !will someone tell me whats wrong with this damm engine?

When you say you press the pedal, and "nothing," do you mean just no power? If so, it sounds like your timing is off (maybe too far retarded). Generally the more advanced the timing, you get a little more torque, but a lot harder to start. I don't want to insult your intelligence, but did you put a timing light on it? Are the valves adjusted right?

Your compression is too low because you have 305 heads.
Put back original heads.
You only need a cam with .420 lift max on this engine.
put 3.08's in the rear.
Get a modern catalytic converter.

And off you go!

Could be you over carbed it too.
These work best with quadrajets.

FYI: Depending on the 305 heads he has your correct, but there are 305 HO heads that have 56cc's.
