I need to know what has to be done to a stock 350 block to accomodate a 383 stroker kit? I have an untouched 4 bolt main block ready for transformation and this will be my first motor to build for my 72'Nova. Thanks for any info regarding this.

You have to bore the cylinders .030 over (4.030 diamter) and thus get 4.030 pistons and drop in a 400 small block crank(3.750 stroke). If you are using a kit the crank may be already have 350 mains. If you are using a crank out of a 400, the mains will have to be ground to the size of the 350 mains.

I think you need special pistons too, or get the skirts ground down a little because of the longer stroke. The standard 350 pistons will bind in a 350 with a 400 crank. 1990 Chevy Astro "Family Holler" 1973 350 V8 with TBI Hedman headers, high-flow cat, dual 3-inch exhaust TransGo shift kit
