i'm lookin for a little guidance. i know there is a ton of experience viewing this forum, so... who better to turn to? nyway, here is my situation. i own a 70 camaro (non rs) i have put together a pretty stout combo for the thing. it starts with a 0 decked '74 350,(casting 010) high nickle, high tin, production block it has been punched .030 using torque plates. it is a 4 bolt and uses arp main studs to retain a gm steel 1182 crank w/ (3.48) on the stroke and clevite 77 h bearings. a moroso anti cav oil pump w/milodon pan and pick up handle the lubrication only other mod to the oil system is the use of .090 resticters in the lifter galley.cloyes double roller timing set turns the isky 260/268 deg@.050 cam it is ground with 106deg lda and i installed it @ 102deg lift at the valve is .636/.595 using 1.6 int/ 1.5 ex rocker combo. i have best results running .020/.022 hot lash even though isky calls for .028/.028 hot. an aluminum 2 piece coer limits for and aft movement of the cam to .005.the remainder of the short block consits of summit proline rod w/arp cap screws. floating trw 2252 pistons fly cut to allow for the necesary clearance between them and the valves. speed pro zero gap top rings w/ gap set up for 250 shot of n2o. ati super dampner handles the harmonics.the head are canfield 220 pro ported by joe sherman racing the are bench tested 301cfm @.600 in /225cfm @.600ex the heads are milled .030 for a 60 cc chamber. compression works out to roughly 13.1:1 they use titaniun ret w/ 10 deg locks valve diameter is 2.08/1.60 arp studs isky two piece guide plates ans canfield girdlesi run a dart single plane intake ported by joe sherman and an nx n2o kit with progressive controller usually run the 200 horse pills in the kit. a holley hp 830 w/ annualar boosters handles makin the carbon. exhaust is hooker super comp to 3 inch,throu doctor gas x and flowmaster 40's a manual reverse v body turbo 400 sends go to 3.90 gears and 28x9 slicks msd everything for the ignition,billet dist,6al,8990 timing comp. fuel is -8 from the rear holley black pump to two dead head regs. i currently use a 3200 stall due to the limited street time the car sees i want the car to pull more serious 1/8 mile times any help out there? by the way the car carries full interior and a 6 point cage weighing 3420 with me in the car. current times are 6.50's @102 (i forgot to mention that ,yes the heads are studded to the block. how much larger can i go on the gas without busting the bore out of the production block? pinion angle is 5 1/2 deg downward tilt.
