this question actually concerns my 71 cutlass that i just imported to australia it has the lightest steering i have ever felt in a car. my brother has a 68 chevelle and i also have an 88 chevy pickup i believe they all run basically the same steering box these other cars have good feel and take some effort to turn the wheel. the cutlass i can turn the steering on the spot with the tires half flat with one finger. its a bit of a handful driving down the road. it feels the same as my 60 impala i once had with the ram type steering. can anybody help? have i got to much pressure from the pump or is this normal? the cutlass seems to have the original steering box and pump.

Hey guy has it always been that way, if not sounds like the spool valve in the steering gear may be sticking. Also make sure that somebody has not added power steering to it. The alignment specs are deferent for power and non power steering. It will cause it to have over steer. If you have any other questions just ask.

Thanks
