Hi,
I am totally new here so please don't hit very hard if this topic has been discussed but i did not find one.
We are building pure Drag car for dragracing in Estonia and here there are not really many places for good advice. So here is the question -
We have 454 engine that has around 700 HP, we are using around 250-300 NOS to get around 900-1000 HP. Engine has Edelbrock Victory Junior intake, 12 compression ratio, 102cc heads ... We need to replace camshaft and there we need some help - what kind of cam would be good used on this engine ?
Thanks for any advice ...

You're not telling the whole story here, did you buy this engine with no understanding of what was in it or how it functions?
700 horsepower is no easy feat, if you built this engine you would have to have a pretty good understanding of cams just to pick one.

Ok,
to keep out the further fuzz around this topic i must admit that we bought this engine as it was. Basically it's 454, bored .30 over - 460.
It has - Chevy 4 bolt block, TRW L2372AF-30 pistons, Edelbrock Victor 2-R 4500 intake manifold, we are not yet sure what crank, but it's not forged. Race Demon 1000 cfm carb.
At first we had deal that we do not get crankshaft and heads but finally we still got crankshaft with it - i do not know what parameters it is - if i read it correct it says only - 304-5 E304-6 B8 F3946
anyway the cam looks radical,
This combo has been used with 300hp nitroshot and is in perfect condition.
Now as we got cam but not the heads i have a different question - will AFR 325 with 114cc chambers work fith this combo ? The problem is that those are sitting on the shelf, but anything else shoulb be ordered and we plan to attend one event 2 weeks from today. As i see the intake is a bit high for AFR 325. 325 seems by description midrange HP head but intake is pure top HP.
Has anyone suggestions ? Should we go with AFR 325 or order 345 or similar ?

my self i would run the small cc runner heads ,better intake velocity on 460' engine ,the afr 325cc heads as cast make about 720hp on 454 at 6800 rpm with 11.1 comp ,1100 cfm carb on 109 octaine race fuel, super victor intake and 2.250" headers, cam used was hyd roller 266 deg int/272 deg ext at 0.050" lift and int lift 0.678"/ext lift 0.688" and 110 deg lobe sep, this was in gen 6 454 with std forged steel crank and scat i beam 4340 rods ... i have read about drag racers running slimmar combos with 12.5 comp and h beam rods making 700hp then gas it with up to 500hp nos on gen 6 .1053 std forged crank , but with only a few passes ...ps dont run a bbc cast crank over 7000rpm and 700hp (they on the limit)

Don't use a 345cc runner on only a 460 cubic inch engine, it will kill power. Runners like that are meant for 540 or so cubic inch engines (running at sane rpm levels anyway).
