Hi, I'm looking for help or ideas in doing a tpi engine swap. Like everybody else I would like it to be clean and simple. I'm going to use a donor car to help with the project. Choices are 90-93 Camaro, Firebird or Caprice. It will be a daily driver and not raced. I would like to use the original tranny. I've done some home work on this already and I'm looking for any pitfalls or hangups. The car now has a 229ci.,a/c,automatic. Thanks.

this might help you, the 229ci. and I'm sure it has a 200r4 trans. the 200r4 for the 229ci will not bolt up to the 350 tpi it is a different bolt pattern. you can get downer car with a 700r4 and 350tpi as one unit. for the wiring i would use {painless wiring]they have a web site. i just got stuck in stupid   this is only for a 3.8L engine, the 4.3 engine, the trans will bolt up. if you have any questions send me a pm.

To big-gm-tech, Don't know what pm stands for? I thought the 200r4 has overdrive? Mine is just 3 speed. Yes my engine is a 229 *** The reason I want to keep a 3 speed is I have column shifter. To use a 700r4 I would need a different shift selector for column. I haven't looked but the shift linkage might hook to turbo 350. Thanks for the response.
