Hi, Can anyone tell me how the intake should fit on a small block chevy. I built a 383 stroker, had the block decked to 9.010 and milled .025 off the iron eagle heads. When I set the intake on without gaskets and pull it over to one head, I have .038 gap on the other head. Should it mate all 3 surfaces without the gaskets, or should it mate on the heads only and have a certain amount of clearance on the block. Any help would be appreciated.

see how it fits with gaskets, I just went through the same thing on my SBC. there will probably be a gap on the valley seal area with the gaskets in place. if not, then move on to the machine shop. Fel Pro gaskets are .060 thick, should be enough to make up the difference. If not try Fel Pro 1266 gaskets, they are WAY thicker and a lot cheaper than machining the manifold

Thanks, I used Fel Pro 1206 and had .027 above the block.  I used permatex ultra black instead of the gaskets on the valley. Went together fine. Thanks again.
