Hi everybody,simple question,now i know u guys probably have seen this question a thousand times and answered it a thousand times but i just want to know...whats the largest cam i can put into my 96 impala? as u already know it has a bad 'A'LT1 350 but right along with that the guy that i bought the car from also installed hooker headerz,40 series flowmasters,a K&N filter which is more than enough but i believe in my heart that a large cam would top it off just right thanx 4 yur answere  

The largest cam possible will be the one that performs the worst.  

The stock LT1 valves can't take a ton of lift, so somewhere around .550" lift is the max it'll take.

That being said, you also have to consider how much cam the computer can handle without need tuning, what can the heads take, etc.

Call the Comp tech line, tell them what you're looking for, and take their recommendations.
