I have a 1984 3/4 ton burb, and I want to change the suspension/rear axle to 1/2 ton .  What are the year models that will bolt up?  Can 1500 truck suspension components be used as well?  Thanks.

Yes, most 1/2 ton stuff will bolt up but why do you want to switch out the good parts for smaller stuff? As far as I know, from 73-87 are very similar. I converted a 76 Crew-Cab dually to 4-wheel drive from an 85 carcass.

Thanks for the information.  I rodded the burb 10 years ago, lowered it 4 inches, and I have not liked the way the rear end sets ever since.  Can't do much with the 14 bolt being so thick.  I have a blown BB just sitting in the shop askinig to be dropped in it, and I want the 12 bolt for the Belltech parts I want to add.  Also, there are a lot more wheel styles available for the 5 and 6 lug.  You had a good question, and I appreciate your help!  Good day.
