I have a 85 chevy custom deluxe with an lt1 dropped into it. i have a problem with the alternator not charging the battery and now the truck will not start. we have rewired a few things and made sure that the wires are back where they are supposed to be. im lost on what i need to check. there is no spark in the wires either. does anyone have any kind of advice?  

Is the alternator itself working. I recently put a 6.0 liter ls motor in an s-10 and we played withe wiring for hours. Come to find out the alternator itself was no good  

What exactly did you re-wire? Is it HEI distributor? If so does it have 12volts to the B+ wire?  

if you can tell me what elect parts you you swapped off of your old engine to the LT1. are you using the LT1 fuel injection or go back carburetor. AS much info I will do my best to help you all I can.
