Need input on the proper stall for a fresh, never started 383 w/ aluminum heads, keithblack pistons, roller rockers, roller cam, auto. 410 in the rear. Plan to 1/4 mile it and weekend driver. To many guesstimations from to many people, not enough confident input, please help. Thanx

Ported AND POLISHED, wow - must be a hot rod...

All jokes aside, "roller cam" and "aluminum heads" aren't specific enough details for anyone to tell what kind of stall you need.

Maybe your train of thought should be, if you're not going to ask 'correctly,' don't ask at all!

Boys, boys! Cam duration is one of the biggest factors. See if you can find it on your cam card and post it.  Let us know what tranny you're using.  Essentially you don't want your car to cruise on the highway with the engine turning under the RPM that your converter stalls at.  This generates too much trans-killing heat. The higher the duration on your cam the less low-end torque it will make and the higher in the RPM band your peak power occurs, and the more stall speed you want.  You want your converter to flash to a higher RPM to launch your car  with the engine at or near it's peak torque output in the RPM band.  This is the very short simple overview of things.
