305 swap in S-10 1985

Hey guys, just want to know info about the swap of a Carburated 305 in a S-10 1985 with 2.8...
The tranny that come with the 305 is a Turbo 400, but i might keep the 5 speed from the 2.8... I guess a bellhousing swap would let me keep the 5 speed... but i'm not sure about that... anybody help me on that one???

The 5speed from the 2.8 will not work to my knowledge because the bell housing you need is from a 4.3 different bolt pattern. The 400 will work except you will have to move your mounting bracket on the crossmember. For a 305 though you might want to go with a th350 beacuse the th400 needs a little more power to turn it, but the 400 wont break as easy. Hope this helps.
