got my hi-tech 350 400 HP 400LBS. torq the othere day and it requires the use of a melonized distributor gear motor has hydraulic roller cam. Will be useing a summit street & strip  billet alumm dist. .500 shaft.Bought a MSD melonite coated gear part #8561.The gear only slid on shaft half way so I rat tail filed it out to fit like the summit gear fit. It didn't take much just a couple of strokes, did I just screw this part up ?? Also need and engine oil dip-stick an tube passanger side through the block casting # are 10243880 1995-2000 what should I look for or part #. Motor will be going in a 66 chevy caprice 2-dr coupe. These questions my seem silly but I'm a first timer who only knows enough to get himsef in trouble thanks for the help
