i heard the third gen rearend dont hold up as strong. is it true? i wanted to know will i better buying an aftermarket rearend. you see i got 84 z28 and under sits a 385 forged everything and i drive it daily but i want to take to the strip. so if i put slicks or street slicks on it and it hooks will kill my rearend? i have nitrous 175 shot to be exact and my stock rearend has moser axles with richmond 3.73 gears. how big in diameter the diff in a 4th gen camaro? will a 4th gen rearend bolt right up in a 3rd gen camaro without mods? thankyou 2 anybody that has helped me

How did you put in aftermarket gears without knowing the diameter of the ring gear?

i know the diameter. it is a 7.5. what i was told a 7.5 inch rearend wont hold up and i'll end up busting the rearend if the car is hooking on the track. so what im saying is building up a stock rearend worth the investment?
