So, this is my 1st muscle car. I've built a rock crawler before from ground up, but thats it. I'm trying to learn the whole suspension setups in the muscle car world. I'm looking for raw horsepower w/ a BBC(454 or 502). For now I only have a frame and sandblasted body(71 Nova). I've always wanted to have a tubed muscle car that can pull wheelies. What kind of rear drag subframes should I look at? Should I keep it more cost friendly and just mini tub it w/out major frame modifications? I'm aiming for around 500rwhp and maybe one day build up to 1000hp. Is 500hp not enough to be tubing the rear end? I'm doing a ground up, so shouldn't I just tub it now if I have future hopes of pushing 1000+/- some at the wheels. On top of all that, I don't have plans for competing really, just a toy for weekend cruising or nights at the dragstrip. I tend to have a problem of going overboard and wanting to go all out, so maybe you guys can give me your opinions(good or bad).
O ya, ladder bars or 4 link...ive seen other topics about this, but lemme hear your input for suspension idea's on a street machine w/ some drag strip time here n there.
Thanks in advance!!

if your pushing 1000 ponies, you will need to do a whole back half frame install, and tie the front clip to the back. you will want to cage it with this much power. also adding strength to the frame. if you want to buy a racing front clip, or a new prefabbed one go for it. tub the hell out of it the first time. even if you dont need that much clearance now, you dont have to do it again. chop a ford 9in and 4 link the rear and weld on weelie bars. kind of a quick overview, but thats what im doing to my 70.
