Two similar cams yet the differences are there. First cam has a longer intake duration and same intake lift with the same exhaust duration yet shorter exhaust lift. Second cam has shorter intake duration and same intake lift with the same exhaust duration and more exhaust lift. What's the difference between these two cams? How will the differences in intake duration and exhaust lift make behave differently? Will one have more overlap than the other?
Here are the specs on the two cams:
Comp cam less exhaust 212/218 degrees duration .447 lift intake/.454 exhaust 110 LSA
vs
Comp 4x4 Cam 210/218 degrees duration .447 lift intake/ .462 exhaust 111 LSA

What are the differences, are there any differences?
We're talking about .010" of lift and 2 or 3° of overlap - that isn't much! They will behave virtually the same. The XE4x4 will probably have a slight advantage in midrange and top-end power.

Haha I had a feeling I was looking too deep into the specs. lol Thanks for the reply.
Do you think there will be any difference in idle? Will one "sound" a little better than the other and have a bit more lope?

one thing is, with more exhaust duration you're going ot have more scavenging of the exhaust gasses from the cylinders. This does affect performance, but not at the low levels mentioned above.

The 4x4 Xtreme has slightly less overlap, so it could possibly have a VERY SLIGHTLY better idle.
