Hello all,
After taking out the distributor in my 350 67 camaro I have a problem putting it back in. The problem that I am having is the the oil pump shaft is leaning to one side of the opening in the block that the shaft runs through, not allowing it to line up with the distributor gear.. The shaft wiggles freely and when I turn the oil pump shaft with a flathead, it just falls right back into the same place. Is it possible for the shaft to be to far up? Like maybe I have to tap the shaft back down to secure it? The distributor is a Digital E Curve, with a shaft Diameter of .500. I havent had this problem before with this setup. I hope someone can give me some tips..
Thanks Jay

It may have stuck to the distributor when you pulled it and disconnected from the pump. When you turn it with a screwdriver, does it feel like you are turning the pump?

It turns very easily... I was able to hook a primer tool up to it and spin it to read oil pressure on the gauge. It may have come disconnected then.. Can I just tap it back in??
