I have a 87 silverado with 305 tbi and auto trans
i have purchased a complete 350 carb motor and tranny out of a 1984 full size pick up. what would be the best plan of attack? should i try and keep the tbi for easy wiring or is there a way to bypass and just keep the carb? I have a feeling this won't be a basic swap. and if there is already a thread please help me find it. I'm new to this.

Keep the TBI, Edelbrock has a 87 up TBI intake with the canted center bolts and 350 size injectors will be needed.Try to get a 350 chip from GM, also if you are using castiron manifolds make sure your heads have the  extra bolt for cyl. 7 and 8 at the firewall.  This will give you something to chew on     WIEDER

i'm still waiting on the 350 but will the 87 305 tbi intake work on the older 350? i was told that the 87 intake had the canted center bolts any truth to this?

The way I explained it would be confusing! The intake I suggested will not bolt up on the 84 heads. Tell us your budget and intentions for advice on heads.     WIEDER

well most of the budget is wrapped up in the engine and tranny already. as for as intentions go. I'm just tryin to trade out the wore out 305 and stock tran. this is a weekend use truck...boat pullin and haulin trash. It is a second truck so it can sit untill i get the right stuff. local salvage yard will yield the 350 injectors and prom. i'm just tryin to make the truck run properly. without getting to far under. but any suggestions are greatly appreciated and welcomed. Thank you again Wieder for walkin me through this.

i also work at a ford dealership...doesn't do much for this chevy project, but i have access to using a decent machine shop and discounts on parts.
