I have a 1970chevelle SS396{L34} I replaced the points with a Electronic Pickup kit. The engine is hard to stars but runs great. I only have 8Volts at the coil during the start-up. The instructions in the kit said I should remove a Resistor in the start circuit so I could get a full 12volts during start. Where do I find that Resistor. My shop book was know help.... ![]() ![]()

The instructions are talking about the ballast resistor, it's the white ceramic piece mounted to the firewall near the distributor. It'll have a wire on each end.
