i just baught a 67 camaro with i think is a 67 vette engine in it with the hump heads tryin to figure out what this is casting #3892657 block # VO5IOYH head # 3782461 i think the original owner was gonna set it up for racing at firebird it has a holly 750 double pumper edelbrock victor jr.intake headers, 400 turbo trans, a.r.c. switch panel, mallory dual point ignition, and a accel coil the size of a football the fuel pump is mounted in front of the tank and it has a remote dual oilfilter setup this car has been sitting in a garage since oct of 1994

The number crosses to a 1967 camaro Z-28 302 with a small journal crank or a 1962-1967 327 inch car or truck. Corvette engine blocks had a higher nickel containt and the number would normally cross to Corvette only. http://www.73-87.com/chevy_ids/blockid.htm

It's not a Z/28 block. All 302 Z/28 blocks had "DZ" in the casting numbers. It could be a Corvette engine though, and is a good motor for a build, even if it is a small journal block.

i got it runnin tonight and its got a whine like a blower i think it might have gear driven timing mabye im not sure i can only run it for a minute becouse the primary floats are sticken or not adjusted right becouse gas pours out of the overflow tube on top of the carb the engine sounds real healthy though. cant wait to drive it
