i want to know if i can use a early style 5.7 small block with my vortec heads and fuel injection

You sure can, the Vortec heads will bolt onto a Gen I block. The only difference is the intake manifold bolt pattern on the vortec head is different than the older engines, requiring a 'Vortec-specific' intake, which with the popularity of Vortec heads, these intakes are not hard to find.
