Hello I 1988 TBI Suburban that needs a rebuild, runs great burns a little oil. 6" lift 35's Turbo 400 14 bolt w/Eaton.

Should I rebuild it or can I use a 1996 long block with the roller cam and the TBI intake for the Vortec heads.

I would be half the price to rebuild the original flat tappet engine. If I get a 1996 350 I would still rebuild it before installing it.

What would I need to change if I wanted to use the MFI from the 1996?

I know the fuel pump since in 1996 they have more fuel pressure. what about the fuel lines would the original TBI lines hold the pressure of the MFI fuel pump?

Would the fuel pump fit in the TBI pump locatin in the gas tank?

Any experience out there?

Thanks!
