I just finished putting together my Camaro and haven't been about to run it down the 1/4 yet. Can anyone give me a ET / HP estimate and also tell me if there would be anything you would change about the car? It has a new powerglide with a 1.76 first gear, transbrake and a 4500 stall. The rearend is the 10 bolt 8.5 with a minispool and 4.56 gears. I am running a 26 x 10.5 slick. The car weighs 3400 pounds with me in it. I have the frame tied, traction bars, 50/50 shocks in the rear and 90/10 in the front. The motor has Edelbrock Performer RPM Aluminum Heads, Performer RPM intake, and a 700 Holly Double Pumper carb. The ignition is stock with a Accel Coil & MSD 8.5 wires. I have roller rockers and Manley rods. The cam is a Comp Cam 12-679-5 with a int .540 & ext .558. The duration at .050 is int 252 & ext 260. For the exhaust, I only have 1 5/8 Headers with torque tubes. I also have a 850 Double Pumper I can put on it and a Edelbrock Torker II intake. I have an electric fan and water pump on the car. I also removed the inner fenders and power steering pump. I am running the Z-28 style hood so clearance is a issue right now but I plan on getting a cowl hood. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you need to know any else, please ask.

Hi the only prob I see with the combination is the ignition you need an MSD 6AL or something in that line of ignition series. The 6AL will come with the rev limiter built in. The stock igntion will be okay to about 4500rpm but not much higher then that. AS far as horsepower goes with the right ignition system and timing I would say somewhere around an honest 350 or 375.

Alright, thank you. Last year I had a smaller cam, 3000 Torque converter & 3.73 gears with a turbo 350 and ran 12.29 at 111. This year I hope I am under 12s with the new setup. I will try to get the ignition changed soon and if the weather holds out.. I should be able to take it to the track this Sunday. Thanks again.

I took it to the Bracket Race on Sunday and ran a best of 11.97 at 111. It could of went a 11.90 easy but I was on a break out run. Hit the brakes a little to try to save it and still broke out of my 12.00 dial in. Next thing on my to-do list is change jets, adjust the timing and upgrade the ignition. Thanks.
