1966 nova v8 swap

hey im new here!


and theres a 66 nova down the street im thinking about buying but its a v6.... what do i need to swap in a v8, i have a built small block 400 that i want to put in it....is there a kit i can buy or is there a whole front subframe i have to buy or what...any and all help is appreciated

First, that Nova has an inline six (probably a 200) not a V-6.

To put your 400 in the Nova, all you have ot do is move the motor mounts from the six-cylinder position to the V-8 position, which is simple. You'll also need a bigger radiator to keep the 400 cool, and the front accessory drives for a V-8 car so you can hook everything up.

You don't have ot change the subframe, but oyu need to swap in V-8 front springs, and I'd definitely suggest replacing all the tie rods and other wearable front end pieces because of the extra weight the 400 is gonna add to the front end.

55 guy is putting you on the right track,also look into heatercore cover clearance on firewall.   WIEDER

so just move the motor mounts, a radiator, springs, and heater core clearance and a accessory drive belt kit for a v8?
