Im thinking about adding 75-100 shot of nitrous, do you think that is to much for this setup? What rings and bearings would yall use? Please feel free to comment on any parts listed. let me know if im going overboard with any parts or need to upgrade any of them. Also what kind of hp do you think this combo will have? I plan on diving it on the street on the weekends and every once in awhile take it to the track.

Thanks,
Chad

sounds like u are on the right track.compression will be approx 10.6:1.as far as nitrous goes, your cam has too narrow a lobe center to take full advantage of it,therefore i'd just stick to getting as much out of what u have first b4 playing with the spray.as far as hp goes, hard to say, what type of vehicle is it going in?

Its going to be in a 78 nova coupe. The car had a 454 blower motor in it before i bought it. The guy that owned the car didnt have the supension set up and all the car did is spin down the track. Im wanting to run power brakes and power steering do you think its going to be a problem? Im wanting to get 550 or 550+hp out of the engine dont know if it reach my goal some people say it will and some say it wont.

Thanks,
Chad

I would definitely go with a bigger carb, as a Holley 750 is much too small. If it were a Demon 750 it may be a little bit of a different story but even then I'm sure you can get away with something a little larger to help top-end power.

It's very difficult to say what your compression will be because it's very dependent on the piston to head clearance and head gasket volume.

I wouldn't count on peak power being above 7400 rpm. I'd say 6500-7000.

I'm a Clevite bearings guy and a file-fit Speed Pro rings kind of guy. I've never believed in gapless rings even though so many people claim gains from them. You can extravagant and get pre-coated (Calico comes to mind) bearings if you have some cash to spend and are looking for a little added durability.
