What typically causes one? I was starting from a stop in my Pontiac daily driver (Has a 350 in it) and it cut out and backfired through the intake, but then drove normal, and I haven't had any problems since. Was it just a hot ignite off of too much fuel? do i need to adjust my valves and/or timing? Please help!!! Confused

Typically, this is caused by a lean mixture. Too little fuel rather than too much. If you are running a carb, check the accelerator pump flow.
