GM might as well produce the new Chevelle. They have already brought back and subsequently ruined many old legendary cars, inluding: GTO, Impala, Monte Carlo, and the Malibu. The GTO is ugly, the Impala is front wheel drive as is the Monte Carlo and the Malibu. Bringing back the Chevelle would ruin another General Motors legend, because of it's bland styling. The old Chevelle was legendary on the street, becuase of it's GOOD LOOKS, and performance

thats just like saying dont bring back the corvette next year...
i have nothing against the GTO's or monte carlos or impalas, the only problem i have is with the new malibus where they have from full sized to midsize cars for the enthusiasts to compact cars for the commuter

In your view all those nameplates where *** on years ago
impa 73-90 sucked .. last SS was kinda cool but not what that nameplate started as...
montie... 73-84 slow dogs 84-88 SS look o k .. but are so slow
g t o is whats we been asking for since the 88 g body ended..
FAST/ 6 speed/ reardrive/ other that the sticker shock it's a fun car..
can't blame g.m. for the look the G P (that is looks like) sells very good
malbu ...um nothing great here since 75 other that the mid 80's after u rework everything
get over it... they've sucked wind for years...all of them...
I'll take a new G T O
it's every thing a 60's 70's muscle car wanted to be....

Why cant they make like a 70 chevelle .Just like it used to look .Frame ,body pannels all the same .And make it emission legal, safety legal, better suspension. But just stamp out all the old sheet metal like it used to look.Like a 70 but with modern technoligy .Is this a stupid idea? Would anyone buy cars like this today?

You and I might buy one. The general public probably wouldn't. Most automobile buying decisions are made by females. How many women do you know fall all over a Chevelle? Manufacturers are in business to maximize sales and profits - not to appease the few of us guys.

hello
sorry but all of us aren't married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
there are alot of grand marcie's out there married couple....
if g. m. made the chevelle the way we want it and a four door set up like a grand marcie or LTD.. and call it um I don't know maybe NOVA or caprice ... they'd sell tons of um..
and the use of the same platform would make the chevelle a profitable car unlike the f-body that had no mainstream car on that platform..
or hell let buick have the 4 door...

Don't dog the new generation of G.M. musclecar attempts.Everything evolves.I'd hate to think I had to go back to old point ignition systems, drum manual brakes, and vacumn wiper blades.I thought 73 chevelles were the ugliest thing I had ever seen.and now they fetch nearly as high a price as 72 back.As far as reproducing it.It's just a matter of time. You can now buy every peice(including the cab)for 67-72 chevy pickups. The chevelles are nearly there already.

Well I meant to start making them agin with up to date emissions and safety standards. Not perticlary the73 chevelle. Just some of the older most favorite body styles. The 73 really cant get moving with anything less then 400 ft.lbs I think they are like 4300 lbs. and most had 273 gears.Another thing after the gas crunch cars started to get smaller and lighter like 77 malibu compared to 78 or 79. Engine cubes dropped from 350 to 305,307,301,and buick and chevy 3.8 v6s.The reasults were good because most of the cars could pull down 20mpg.But now the cars are all climbing back up twards the 4000 lb mark.Go figure?

I don't really care how it looks on the outside. The GTO is a vette for people with kids. If they do a Chevelle (and they probably should since that Charger will be out soon...) make it a live axle and they've got all the bases covered. Jasonffice ffice" />>> 3rd gear, 3500 rpm, and 1500 ft. before the next braking point... nothing could be better than this...>>

Chevy should not bring back a Nova. they already ruined it by bringing in the stupid one from like Japan. They shouldn't bring it back and ruin another great car.

A nova would be decent, but I think they should fire back with something all new, those name plates are dead, the impala blows along with all the other #### they offer from Chevy. They need to sit down and sketch up a new car. Call it the __________ (fill in) and design it to be like all the other muscle cars that were back in the day......offer it in 4 door shatty models, 2 door slow models, wagons, and of course 2 door HI PERFORMANCE MODELS all at reasonable prices. It needs to be a car that you can buy and have performance if you want it, or you can buy and add performance. *
*Such as like the L79 Novas- They were redicules, but only a few were made but it didnt matter because people could build there own on a weekend...........
And most of all-Offer FACTORY PERFORMANCE PARTS- hmm I would like to add a new cam to this __________ car. 1-800-Chevy give me a sick one.

i agree with dragracekid. i am a chevy guy thru and thru. i hate the front wheel drive cars. tranny goes bad - 2000.00 to fix. you have to pull the whole motor/transaxle to fix. i dont see the advantage either. it is just a manufacturing savings for the auto makers. it doesnt make the car perform better or handle better. at least if the trans or rear axle pukes on my 65 Malibu SS i just pull the affected unit out and fix it. far easier. far cheaper. i also think all the GM cars are looking all the same. a rounded wedge on wheels. the impala, malibu, cobalt all look the same just different size. at least dodge (gag, gag) can make a car look cool and different from the other cars in their lineup. i think chevy hired all the ford engineerers/designers. ever drive a 96 Impala SS now there is a fast full size rear drive car that kicks butt. if GM could do that with the malibu or Chevelle they would really have something.
