I am building a 355 SB Chevy motor with vortec heads with valve job and port matched, my question is with a 9.2:1 compression and sprayin a 150 shot and a TH350 trans 3:73 gears. Will I have any problems running the 150 shot down the track? Is that a low compression to run this kind of setup? Any suggestions would be helpful!

What? Compression too low for nitrous? No, nitrous makes more power regardless of the compression. I don't really understand what you mean by, "running it down the track."

My bad! My question was about the compression ratio and weather or not a higher or lower ratio is better for running nitrous on the track while still being able to produce plently of power for the street without the nitrous? I just want a happy medium!

Well, more compression is more power, if the nitrous is turned on or off but there is a limiting factor in that compression pushes the limits of stable combustion, moreso with nitrous as it's closer to unstable just by means of adding all that oxygen but these ratios would be MUCH higher than we are dealing with here...

Talking about nitrous use with 9.2:1 compression compared to 9.5:1, 8.5:1, or maybe even 10:1 is splitting hairs. Just as long as the fuel used with the nitrous has a high enough detonation resistance the engine will be fine and make good power. Nitrous just likes to add power. Adding oxygen to the combustion is just a very effective means of doing this so it's less dependent on other aspects of the engine to account for gains.
